A One Year Old Photo Shoot

I just wanted to share a few photos from a quick mini session I did.  If you are interested in seeing more, go here.

I'll be back tomorrow with a crafty post.  I'm surrounded by sickness here.  The older two boys just have viruses, but JoJo has an ear infection.  He has really, really high fever (103.7 at the doctor's office).  I'm on my way to pick up his antibiotics.  I hope you are enjoying your weekend!

Jump In! (12x12 Layout)

Supplies:  American Crafts Cardstock and letters, Fancy Pants and Cosmo Cricket Patterned Papers, and probably the buttons too, Sassafras journaling spot (those little cards)

Good day, Everyone!  I made this layout a month or so ago (maybe two).  I used a leaf punch from Creative Memories that my mom bought about 7 or 8 years ago.  I punched the leaves on a sheet of Fancy Pants paper that I LOVED!  Therefore, I was always saving it for the right project.  I've had it for several years and it was time to use it.  It's funny how sometimes we save things that we love so much and they never end up being used.  So my advice is to use them.  What's the point of having the stuff unless you're going to use.  Okay, I'm stepping off of the soap box now.

On another note, I know that I haven't been too crafty lately.  Thank you those of you who follow/read my blog for crafty ideas, and also sorry.  As I have not been delivering on that too well.  I just haven't felt scrappy lately.  My kids ALWAYS trash my craft room.  It mainly makes me angry that I have no place to work without 10 minutes of clearing tables and putting stuff away.  I have also been busy editing photos and such for photo sessions as evidenced by my recent posts.

If any of you are interested in learning about techniques in PhotoShop or Elements, please let me know.  My knowledge is not vast on that subject, but I do know a few tricks that I am happy to share.

I feel as though I am in some sort of transition.  Transition from what to what I don't know, but it's sort of a lost feeling.  Maybe it's because I'm 30 now?  My husband and I are transitioning out of the baby stage with our children into older childrenhood stage.  Sorry, I don't know what's that called, and does that make sense?  Well, I guess that is probably enough weirdness for today.  Thank you, if you made it to the bottom of this rambling post.  Oh, and I promise to try and me more crafty and meaner to my kids by keeping them out of my craft space :)

Innocent Wonder/I Heart Faces

This week's theme at IHeartFaces is Innocent Wonder.  This is JoJo with his firesticks.    Two sticks you rub together to make a fire.  He carried them with him all day on this hike.  I will be back tomorrow with a crafty post, I promise.

I Heart Faces/Winter Wonderland

This week, I'm entering Wolfie in the I Heart Faces contest, Winter Wonderland.  Sometimes, Winter Wonderland can go suddenly wrong.  Like when your running full speed down a hill, and slip in a pile of mud.  Then, you slide through the entire aforementioned mud puddle.  The result is this priceless photo.  And while, it probably won't win, it is a fun picture to share.  And speaking of fun pictures to share I found some of these the other day too.

Apparently, it wasn't Maddie's Day.

I'll be back soon, and I promise, I will have a crafty post to share.  P.S. I'm going on another photo shoot today.  I'm a little nervous.  I'll share the pics as soon as I can.

@The Museum 12x12 Layout

Memory Works Express Sept 09 (one of my all time favorite kits)

Hi, there, everyone!  The above layout was created after we went to ABQ, last year.  My husband was working up there, saving an endangered species from extinction...The Silvery Minnow.  (I'm actually serious about this.)
On another note, I hope you had a wonderful Saturday like I did.  It was a beautiful here in the desert.  It's days like these, at home with my boys and and my husband that are so wonderful.  The sun was out, and we spent our day outside.  I love to watch my three boys follow their daddy around.  They love him so much, and he is such a wonderful father.  There is something about watching their three little heads running around the yard.  Enjoy the rest of your weekend.  And, as we are reflective with the upcoming holiday (Martin Luther King), I wish you Peace.

The Results of My 1st Photo Shoot!

I cannot thank my dear friend enough for letting me photograph her family.  I enjoyed every minute of our photo shoot.  I was nervous when I started, but her sweet girls were the best picture takers ever.  Baby A, had a hard time...as soon as we started shooting, she fell down and bumped her nose.  It ruined the rest of her day.  And speaking of the day, it was a little chilly...So here are the photos, enjoy.

Sort of a candid shot.
Baby A was not happy!

I love this picture...big sister is picking her up because she's crying.

What a wonderful day!  I love how the pictures turned out.  I know I'm not a professional, but I think I did a pretty good job.  I learned a lot by doing this.  I have another photo shoot on Saturday!  I'm nervous about that one, too.  It's a little tiny baby I'm going to be photographing...eeks!

A New Sketch

I'm on a roll with the sketch posting, one last month, and one this month.  I started back to work this week, and here is a funny story.  I showed up a day early for work.  Yes I did!  I dropped my kid's off at their babysitter's house.  She said her daughter (who is also a teacher in the same district) didn't start school until the next day.  I was like, "NOOOO!"  I quickly asked her for a school calendar.  Sure enough I had one extra day of vacation.  Boy did I feel like an idiot.  But I just decided to leave the kids at daycare and have a day to myself.  I edited some photos from a photo shoot.  I'm almost done and I can't wait to share.  Then I went to lunch with my mother-in-law.  We had a GREAT time!  So in the end, it worked out.  The kids got to wake up early and we had a "practice run" for the real thing.  I got a day to myself.  And besides, it's always better to be a day early than a day late...that's what I say!

A Forgotten Card

Supplies????  I don't remember.

I found this card when I was looking through all of my photos last year, and I realized I didn't share it.  So here it is.

I went on my first photo shoot yesterday.  One that was not of my own family, that is.  I took a ton of pictures, and I really like how they came out.  I can't wait to share them with you.  I have to finished editing them first.  Well, I'm off.  I "wish" you a great day!  Haa..cheesy I know.
