Cloudy Weather

This is a picture of some weather we had last week.  The clouds were so huge...Bigger than the mountains.

I'm tired today.  It feels like a Thursday.  It's been a stressful few weeks at school.  Sometimes being a teacher is hard, and full of worry for your students.  Anyhow, moving on...I'm going to close the 50 follower challenge on Friday.  I have 52 followers/subscribers.  So, I'll give a few others a few more days to join or confirm their email subscriptions.  I'd like to thank everyone that became a follower/subscriber.  I really do appreciate it.  I do hope you can find inspiration or ideas from my projects.  Have a nice evening.

Happy Sunday

MWExpress December 09

Hello All!  Last year we got tons of snow... for the desert that is.  I was finally able to scrapbook some of the pictures.  Did you know there is about 9.5 weeks left in 2010!  We are that close to the end of the year.  It is unbelievable.  It seems that once school starts, time just flies by.  My goal is not to get behind on Christmas Preparations this year.  We will be hosting Erik's family on Christmas Eve and my family on Christmas Day.  So, as I prepare, I'm going to share with you as well.  I'm going to make and send Christmas cards this year.   I don't really have too many to send out, but I'll share anyway.  I'm also going to share some of my Holiday Recipes and projects.

Don't forget, if you read this blog, please pass it on to others.  My goal is to have 50 followers/subscribers.  Once I reach that number, I'll be doing a give away.  One lucky person will receive a February Memory Works Express Kit!

Good Night!

What a Week...And Air Show Photos

This has been such a long, hard week.  I'm so glad for Friday.  Here are some of the pictures from our trip to the air show last weekend.

First, you have to learn the right way to spectate.  There are several options:
The stare straight up and shade your eyes
The Plug Your Ears and Run to Dad
The Plain Old Plug Your Ears
The Curl Up into A Ball

Next we have a shot of some fun:

The Danger

The Army Servicemen were great with the kids!

The Thrills:

And of course, the injury:

JoJo fell  down the steps of the bus.  He caught himself with his face...on the cement curb.  Poor thing.  He busted his lip and got a bloody nose.  The stuff around his mouth are beans from a Taco Bell Burrito.

The boys did have a great time.  It was exhausting.

I'll be back later this weekend to share some projects.

So Easy a Five Year Old Could Do It...

Hello friends!  Today I want to show you how to make some super easy and cute pumpkins.  My little Maddie came home with a cute little pumpkin that he made at school.  He wanted me to help me make some more for our house.  So here you go...
Here are the finished products.  The all orange pumpkins are the ones Maddie made all by himself.

Cut your paper into 1" strips.  The length can vary according to the size you want.  The smallest pumpkins were made from 8" strips.  The longest I made from two 12" strips glued together.

For each pumpkin, you will need four strips.  First make an X...Put glue in the center of one of your strips.

Add another strip.

Add the final strip.

Start gluing your strips together at the top.  I started with the first strips and glued them together.  Glue the opposites together.

Here's the finished product.

Cut some rectangles for the stem and glue them to the tops of your pumpkins.

Then, I cut some really skinny strips of paper and curled them with the scissors.  You can see the small strip dangling from my assistant's mouth.  (Notice his missing tooth)  I glued them to the top next to the stems.

The last thing I did was thread wire through the tops so I could hang them from the arch above our entry way.

They're super easy and quick to make.  Mine aren't perfect...since my son helped me make them.  However, he likes them so that's really all that matters.

The patterned paper is from Fancy Pants.

Leave a comment if you have any questions.

All Supplies from September 2009 MWExpress

Hello there!  I got a few layouts done this last weekend, even though it was a busy one.  The kids and I were on fall break.  Today was our first day back.  I'm exhausted from staying up late, and sleeping in late. I am just amazed how quickly the rest of this year is going.  This layout is from Thanksgiving last year.  We had a really nice time.  All of my grandparents came as well as my brothers, parents, cousins, etc.  I really had a wonderful time that day.  We all did.  That's my grandfather you see in the middle.  We moved him into his assisted living facility on Monday.  He seems okay.

I'm looking through my blog.  I haven't done any sketches in a reaaalllly long time.  Perhaps it's time for another.  I would also like to increase my following to 50.  I think I'll offer a nice prize if I reach 50 followers.  So spread the word.  The prize will be an Express Kit from February 2010.  I ended up with an extra one.  I'll post pics later this week, as I'm supposed to be doing dishes right now :)  Once I reach 50, I'll do a random drawing of all followers or subscribers (through feedburner email subscriptions).  The lucky winner will receive the kit.

Well, goodnight!  I'm off to do dishes...

Halloween Layout

All products are from MW Express October 2009

This is one of the layouts I wanted to share.  For some reason, the server kept rejecting my other layout.  I'll have to try and check the reason for that, and I'll post it at a later time.

Can you believe how fast September went by?  Before you know it, it'll be time for Christmas Trees.  I didn't do so well with my goals last month.  I did get a few big ones done, but not all of them.  So, I guess those will carry on into October.  I'm just so overwhelmed with everything.  My house is always a mess.  My kids are so messy.  I realize that I'm going to have to start getting stricter.  They are all old enough now to help out a little bit.  I'm overwhelmed over money as well.  This economy is killing us.  My husband is a contractor.  It's a really hard time for us.  I know that there are tons of other people that are worse off than we are.  But, it's still hard.  The good thing is that I'll have to use up my stash of supplies for crafting.  I guess there's a bright side :)

Well, I guess that's all for today.  I'm off to clean, do laundry, and decorate for Halloween.  The kids have so much fun with that!  I'll try to post some pictures.  Enjoy your Saturday, Friends!
