Goodbye Summer

Goodbye summer.  I'm not quite sure how I feel about you.

You've been devastating and extremely shocking.

You've been full of swimming.

You've been full of friends and family.

You've been Colorado filled.

We've been hiking, fishing, and camping.

You see, it's been a lot of fun with a lot of sadness mixed in.  You've been the best and  you've been the worst.  It's hard to decide.  I guess the best thing to know is that after the storms pass, there is always a rainbow.

Goodbye summer.

Our Camping Misadventure

We went to Willow Creek last week, and it was a lot of fun.  It was so nice to escape the heat and enjoy the rain.  We did have a great time, but it was quite a quest to get there.  Let's just say, I now need new tires, we spent two hours fixing our muffler, we had no idea where we would end up, and we almost drove off a cliff, almost jackknifed the trailer...We didn't have any brakes because of the amount of mud on our tires.  Oh and the jack on the trailer broke, and JoJo got a face full of mud because his window was down when we went through a large puddle.  It seems that Willow Creek will always be our nemesis...last time we went ten years ago, Shatzi, Erik's parent's dog, died on the way and Rolf tried reviving her with CPR.  We had to bury her on the side of the road.  This time we came back with all of our pets so that's good.  Anyhow, here are some pictures.

 Mountain Selfie
 Cow Elk
 Mountain flower
 Muffler trouble
 Morning coffee
Bouquet Erik and the boys made me for our anniversary.

 Mountain Raspberries
These things would probably kill you...mushrooms.

Hope you enjoyed.  It was super fun!   Can't wait to share layouts with you of this trip.  Happy Sunday!

Project Life Week 21

Here is Week 22.  Erik lost his grandpa Ross suddenly this week.  I made an extra insert for the week on an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper.  On the back, I printed out his obituary.

Left side:  The pictures are crummy because Walgreens printed them out horribly.  My first year, first graders graduated so I went to their graduation.  That is one of my students that graduated.  He will be going to the Army.  Wolfie finished his last day of school.  Erik took his picture for me but did not manage to get one with his eyes open.  Val came to visit us.

Right Side:  Josh came to visit.  The kids spent time in the yard.  The tarantula molted.  So that is it's shell on the shelf there.  I think it's cool and I saved it to show the kids at school.  The little polaroid prints are from Persnickety Prints.  I love them!  They are sort of cardboardy, but I love them and will get more.  They are 3x4 in size and fit perfectly in my Project Life pages.
The whole spread with the page insert for Ross.
 The back of the insert.

A close up of the page I made.  I used my Studio Calico kit.  That is vellum paper on top of patterned paper.

Clique Kits Blog Share

Welcome to the Clique Kits blog share.  This is my second month of receiving kits, and I love them!  They are packed with tons of goodies.  With the July Kit, I made two layouts.  One is a traditional 12x12 and the other is my Project Life Spread.

This layout is from the weekend that we had my friend's memorial.  He was murdered.  It is probably one of the most traumatic things that has happened in my life.  I'm still trying to get over the shock of the whole thing.  We had a great weekend to celebrate his life.  Over 500 people came to the memorial.  Our high school friends came from all over the country. My friend Charclee, stayed with us the entire weekend.  We always have so much fun together.  My brother Josh came in from California.  It was a lot of fun despite the sad circumstances.
Moving on...
Here is my Project Life Layout

Thanks for stopping by.  I'm hoping to get a tutorial posted soon so check back in a few days for that. Enjoy the rest of your blog tour.
