Untitled

I'm back from my weekend crop.  Sorry for the long absence, and this won't be a long post.  I've had a lot of health issues this last week.  I will share more later.  I just wanted to touch base with you all and say a quick hello.  I just want to be my old self again...good night.  Love and hugs to you all.

Making a Mini Accordian Album

This is a little album I made for my Memory Works Guest Designer Projects.  It was really super easy, and I'm going to give you written instructions on how to make.  I hope they make sense.  Anyhow,  here are the supplies you'll need.

*2 small square chipboard pieces.  I used mine from the MW Express February 2010 kit.
*Zip Dry or other adhesive
*Patterned  Paper
*Cardstock
*Scoring tool
*Ribbon and embellishments of your choice
(all of my paper supplies are from the Memory Works Express Kit February 2010)  Go here for more products.

Steps:
1.  Apply adhesive to the chipboard pieces and adhere the cardstock or patterned paper.  Let dry, and trim with an exacto knife.
2.  Measure your chipboard pieces.  Mine were 3 1/2 by 3 1/2.  You need the cardstock to fit inside.  So cut your cardstock into 3 x 12 inch strips.  I used 2 strips.
3.  Score your strips every 3 inces.  And accordian fold them.  Adhere the two strips together to create one long piece.
4.  Adhere the accordian strips to your chipboard pieces, and decorate the pages inside.  You could put quotes, notes, or small pictures inside.

So, there you go.  I hope this made sense.  I would like to have taken some photos to go with this, but I'm out of time.  Somehow, it's hard to get things done with sick kids.  Imagine that.  If you have any questions, please leave a comment or email me.

Happy Valentine's Day...Several Days Later

So, Hello to everyone.  I hope you all enjoyed Valentine's Day.  We've been home with two sickies.  I stayed home from work today as well.  Due to illness, I've not had a lot of time to get crafting done.  Today, if I get a chance, I will post some instructions for the mini accordian album I made for the Memory Works Blog.  You can view more of my Guest Designer Projects for this month at that link.

So, for Valentine's Day I got.....a new dishwasher!  How romantic, yet practical.  Our old one was on it's last legs.

This month is going by so fast.  It's already over half way done.  I have to get busy printing pictures and making plans for my weekend crop.  I'm excited to go.  It will be my first time at a weekend long crop.  If I get all I plan to get done, I will be up to January of this year.  That would be incredible.

Well, I'm off to tend to the sickies, the laundry, the house, and everything else.  Enjoy your Tuesday.

Using Perfect Pearls and Ranger Inks

Here is the card I'm going to show you how to make.

Supplies you will need:
Embossing Gun
Stamps of your choice
Plate
Paint Brushes

1.  First, you will need to make a mixture of Perfect Pearls and water.  Place a small amount of Perfect Pearls in the Mini Mister and then add water.  Shake to mix well.  Test it on a scrap, to see if you like the way it looks when you spray it.  If it's too glittery, add some more water.  If it's not glittery enough, add more Perfect Pearls.

2.  Ink your stamps with the Ranger Distress Inks.  Then, stamp your images onto a sheet of cardstock.  It is okay if the entire image is not stamped.  When you wet the ink, it will spread and blend together.  I stamped 3 butterflies for the card using Black Distress Ink.
3.  Spray only your stamped background image with Perfect Pearls.  I let mine air dry.  This allows the ink to blend more.

4.  Now, we will color the butterflies.  We are going to watercolor with Distress Inks.  Press your desired ink colors onto a plate.
5.  Spray the ink with the MiniMister full of your Perfect Pearls Mixture.  Mix with a paint brush.
6.  Paint your butterflies and then heat them with an Embossing gun to dry.
7.  Cut out the butterflies and place them on your card.

So, there you go.  If you have any questions, leave a comment and I will answer them.

Guest Designer Info

 A little card I made.

First, I want to thank everyone who has shown their support for me with the Guest Designer stuff.  A lot of people have been asking about my projects.  So, here is the post about me.  Click Here to see the highlight on the Memory Works Blog (also full of cute project ideas).  This month, I will share some new layouts with you all.  Also, I will be doing some tutorials for distress inks, and Perfect Pearls.  Make sure to subscribe if you're interested.

On another note...Tonight, me and Maddie colored a beautiful picture of a D-Rex (I'll post a pic later), which he proceded to hang up in his room.  He also thinks I did magic because I used white crayon and then colored over it with marker...to show the design.  How wonderful it must be to be so young and innocent, and to find happiness in simple things.  I do feel so happy to have spent the evening coloring.  Very funny, in the adult world, there are so many challenges, problems, and situations that can arise.  But, you can sit with your child, a box of crayolas, and the whole world can feel like a better place.
Good Night and God Bless.

Exciting News!!!!!!

I'm a guest designer.  I'm a guest designer.  Oh, sorry!  I'm extremely excited and proud to announce that I'm a guest designer for Memory Works for the month of February.  That was my exciting news...and the reason I haven't done my layout about me.  I've been busy working on other projects for the design team.  So, stay tuned this month for more projects and info.  P.S.  2 posts in one night...I'm on a roll.

February will be busy...

Just a little card to share today.  For a new baby...just in case you didn't notice the title.

So this month of February might be a short one, but it's going to be busy.  I'm already behind with my posting.  I'm supposed to be posting a layout about me.  Sorry...I'm behind.  I will fill you in with details for this reason on Friday.

I'm very excited to be going to a weekend long crop.  I'm going to have to print and plan layouts to get done for my 72 hours of scrapping.  I can't wait.  There are also a few other projects I'm working on.

There are new products fresh from CHA available for sale.  You might want to check my website often to see the new releases.  Well, I'm off to dinner Elk Spaghetti..yeah!  Until next time.
