A Photo A Day

Hi, Kids!  It's me.  I'm alive.  I have been working so hard to get pictures edited up for customers.  I really want to finish them up because there are things I want to do for myself.  I don't have time to do a lot of things I'd like with pictures needing to be taken or edited.  I am trying to stop all photo shoots until the end of the year.  I am also trying to finish up all photos so I can spend my Christmas break the way I want.  Anyhow, as many of you know, I like to read IHeartFaces blog.  They came up with a list of photos to take for the month of December.  (Something I wanted to do already).  It's just easier  because they give a topic for each day.  So I'm sharing it with you, incase you wish to participate.
I am going to do this, if it kills me.  I may not post daily, but group the pics into several posts.  I am really encouraging you guys to do this too.  We all have cameras readily accessible, whether its our phones or digital cameras.

Also, stay tuned...I will be posting Thanksgiving Pictures.  I also ordered some pictures to print from Postal Pics.  I'm going to scrapbook them and will have the layouts posted in the next week or so.   Hope you guys have a great evening!

Our Family's Fall Photo Shoot

Erik and I took the kids up to the mountains for a photo shoot.  This photo shoot reminds me of why I NEVER dress my children up and take them for a photo shoot.  It also reminds me of I why photograph other people.  I would like it duly noted that when we left the house faces were clean, hair was combed.  I would also like to note that I am extremely glad there is no sound along with the photographs.  There was quite a bit of yelling and shouting (redundant, yes I know but I'm making a point) going on "behind the scenes."  Anyhow....

Yep, this one pretty much sums it up.

Book Recommendation...Life of Pi

This book was amazing.  It started off very, very slowly which is why it took me so long to finally finish.  Part 1 of the book tells about Pi's early life, and how he became Catholic, Muslim, and Hindu.  Part 2 of the book is the story of his struggle to survive after the ship he is on sinks in the Pacific Ocean.  He must struggle to live while he shares a boat with a Bengal Tiger.  Part 3 is extremely short and consists of an interview with the Japanese company who owned the ship.  This book had a huge message, a huge huge message.  I cried at the end of the book.  It's not sad, but because of the realization of what I wished to believe.  Read this book.  It's going on my Must Read list.  It's a book that will make you a better more enlightened person.

On a side note...My friend, Charlcee, made me read this book so we could go watch the movie.  I'm not sure I want to see the movie.  I think the movie will take away from the central message of the story.  I don't know if I want to see that happen.  Anyhow, hope all is well in your corner of the world.  I'm a busy girl here trying to get photos edited and get over my sick spell.  I blame Erik for sharing his germs.  Have a great evening.

Blue Shoes

Hi, All!  When I said I wanted to improve my writing skills I was serious.  I joined Amy Sorensen's Class at Big Picture Scrapbooking called Write Now!  I am a few days behind, don't be shocked.  You should know me by now :)  Anyhow, here you go.

So, this is the story of too small shoes.  I happen to have an excellent pair in mind.  They are called my $110 shoes.  They are Docs that my dad bought in Huntington Beach about 17 years ago, give or take because my big brother, Kriss, told my dad I needed them.  (We had already to decided to gang up on him and argue our point).  But you see, I was so willing to shove my feet into these too small shoes.  They were beautiful, hip, and perfect, and did  I mention steel-toed?  That was unheard of in my day.  Do you know how many times I shoved my feet into them and suffered through the day?  Do you know I still have those shoes, locked up tight?  Protected from the dust?  Because those are my beautiful blue steel-toed shoes that have never been replicated in my presence.  That defined me as a California Girl back in the day even if it was never meant to be.  Even if I wished to be...I say that now because I was supposed to go to school at UCI.  I never made it.  I fell in love with a beautiful boy named Erik.  Thank you, blue shoes....Please note the  wear and tear on the shoes  :).  They are old, after all.

I Heart Faces/Orange

It's that time again for the I Heart Faces photo challenge.  The theme is Orange.  These leaves are a rusty orange...we really don't have that much selection here.  It's either yellow or this so It's what I had to work with :)  Our leaves are barely changing colors as it is.  I'm so not ready for the cold weather.  I am rather enjoying these 80 degree days.

Thanks for stopping by.
